Established in 1998, Travelwild Australia specialises in operating adventure tours and expeditions throughout remote Australia, including;
- The Kimberley
- Outback South Australia
Guided Self Drive Tours
We offer our clients the opportunity to drive well equipped late model 4WD vehicles as part of the tour experience, we lead the tour with 2 professional guides who drive the lead vehicle and who are in constant contact with each of the other vehicles, we normally travel with a group of 5 vehicles.
We take care of everything including the itinerary, accessing private wild spaces where we set up camp and we provide all food and take care of the cooking.
Each vehicle is fitted with a very comfortable roof top bed / tent and has access to their own hot shower and flushing toilet at camp.
The days are active, filled with hiking, swimming and exploring, and ofcourse a bit of driving, we are on hand to help those who have limited experience with off road driving.
We travel off the beaten track, and while to see some spectacular and iconic places, we also take many of the lesser known roads and tracks which criss cross the Australian continent.
Check us out and if you like the sound of what we do, come on a truly authentic Australian travel experience you’ll never forget

Who Is It For
Most of our guests are couples, groups of friends and families.
We are not generally suitable for solo travellers as each vehicle only carries those of the same group, whilst booking a vehicle as a solo traveller is possible, it is an expensive option.
Our vehicles and campsites are comfortable, however it is necessary to climb a ladder to access the roof top tent, so some agility is required. If this is likely to be an issue, get i contact for a chat, as on request we can provide regular stand up canvas tents and stretcher beds.
Our tours are typically also quite active with plenty of walking, exploring and swimming on offer, travelling with 2 guides also allows us split groups where we can offer both an easy and challenging activity at the same destination.
Safety
Australia is typically a safe travel destination, and The wellbeing of you and your family is very important, by travelling in a group with tour leaders you can be confident that you are in good hands, we ensure
We camp in safe areas
Camping & Equipment
We have arranged access to many remote properties where we can set up camp, these places are typically located on huge cattle stations or Aboriginal land, are chosen for their stunning locations and are often very private, with only our group permitted access, of course on occasions we also utilise more public areas as well.
We share a passion to deliver the best and most inspiring wilderness / adventure experiences possible.
